Cheer for a Cure 

Information:

Cheer for a Cure will be held at the Catoosa Activity Center located at 2000 S Cherokee St in Catoosa, Oklahoma on Sunday October 24, 2021.

 

All registration forms, entries and payments must be received by October 1st, 2021. Registrations and entries that are received after October 1st, 2021 will be subject to and must include the late fee of $5 per team member, per category.  So please have all entries in by October 1st to avoid these late fees.  No registrations, entries or payments will be accepted after October 6th.  No exceptions.

 

Once all of the entries and payments have been made, no changes will be allowed unless prior authorization is granted by an authorized board member of CFAC.

 

Check in times will be posted once registrations are completed. Individual competition will be Sunday morning with team competition to follow.

 

All Team Registrations will need to be emailed to cheerforacure16@gmail.com. Invoices will be created and then you can submit you payment via mail, paypal, cash app or venmo. Checks need to be made out to Cheer for a Cure (CFAC) and can be mailed to  PO Box 402 Catoosa, OK  74015. 

 

All times are subject to change and will be confirmed with final itinerary.

Team categories

Teams may compete in up to 3 of the following categories with a maximum performance time limits of 2 ½ minutes:

 

Cheer W/ Chant Only-Squads may perform cheers with chants.  Jumps are allowed.  Poms are allowed. Music, tumbling and stunts are prohibited.

 

Cheer with Chant W/ Stunts- Squads may perform partner stunts into their cheer and/or chant.  All stunts must fall within the UCA or INFC guidelines. Jumps and Tumbling are allowed in this category.  Poms are allowed. Music is prohibited.

 

Dance- Dance routines of any style may be performed and must be tasteful and age appropriate. Dance routines must be performed to recorded music in electronic format (Phone or MP3 Player acceptable, phone preferred). Please also have a backup device ready as well. Stunts and Tumbling are prohibited.

 

Freestyle- Routines for this category should include and will be scored on Jumps, Dance, tumbling and stunt.  Routines should be in good taste and age appropriate. Poms are allowed in this category. Routines must be performed to recorded music (Phone or MP3 player, phone preferred).

 

Individual categories

 

The Individual category is being offered to any participant who is registered within a team entry or not.   The individual categories are as follows:

 

Jumps only-Participants in this category will be scored on the execution of 3 jumps.

 

Extreme tumbling-Participants in this category will be scored on difficulty and execution of 3 tumbling passes.

 

Cheer with Chant Only- Individuals may perform cheer with chant.  Music is prohibited.

 

Cheer with Chant with Tumbling- Individuals may incorporate tumbling with their cheer/chant performance.  Music is prohibited.

 

Dance- Participants in this category may perform a dance routine of any style. The routine should be age appropriate and in good taste. Dances are preformed to recorded music in electronic format (Phone or MP3 Player acceptable, phone preferred). Please also have a backup device ready as well..  Tumbling is prohibited.

 

Poms and or props will be allowed for individual performances.Individual routine performance times may not exceed 1 ½ minutes.

 

*SHOW TEAMS*

The show team category is being offered for kindergarten through 2nd grade squads to perform as a showcase team only. This will be a non-competitive division and will not be scored or judged.  Music must be recorded in electronic format (Phone or MP3 Player acceptable, phone preferred). Please also have a backup device ready as well. Performance time limit will be 2 ½ minutes.

Awards

Trophies awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams for team categories. Individual trophies or medals will be given to each squad member of 1st , 2nd and 3rd place teams.

 

Additionally, all squads that enter and compete in at least 3 out of the 4 categories offered, will be eligible to win our “Cheer For A Cure” grand champion prize. This prize will be awarded to the team with the highest total scores for the event.

 

Team trophies will be presented to all show teams.  

                                      

Spirit sticks will be awarded for “PINKTASTIC” (crowd pleasers) and “TICKLE US PINK” (most spirited).  A special award will also be presented for being “PINKALICIOUS” (most pinked out squad).

Admission

Admission to the competition will be $10 per adult at the door and $5 per student and senior citizens at the door. Ages 3 and under will be free. 

Concession

We will have concessions, flowers and shout outs available for purchase the day of competition.

Divisions

K-2 show teams           3rd grade                   4th grade                    5th grade             6th grade                      7th grade                     8th grade                   9th grade

 

If a squad is made up of 2 grades (1st and 2nd) they will be entered as the higher grade.

 

There will be small group (12 or less participants) as well as large group (13 or more participants) divisions. 

 

CFAC reserves the right to combine divisions (small and large). In the event that only 1 squad enters a category, divisions will be combined to encourage competition. Age groups will NOT be combined. (3rd/4th grade squads will not compete against 5th/6th grade squads).
